Service Description

Medical Emergencies Review Course for Dental Professionals Course Description: This live virtual course provides dental professionals with a comprehensive review of medical emergency preparedness, recognition, and initial response within the dental setting. The course examines common medical emergencies that may occur before, during, or following dental treatment and the role of the dental team in supporting an organized emergency response. Participants will review patient assessment, emergency preparedness, syncope, respiratory emergencies, airway obstruction, allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, diabetic emergencies, seizures, cardiac emergencies, and stroke recognition. The course also examines activation of emergency medical services (EMS), emergency equipment and medications, team communication, documentation, and post-incident review. Emphasis is placed on early recognition, prompt response, effective team communication, and promoting patient safety during medical emergencies in the dental office. Upon Completion of This Course, Participants Will Be Able To: • Identify common medical emergencies that may occur in dental practice. • Recognize signs and symptoms associated with selected medical emergencies. • Describe appropriate initial response procedures for common emergency situations. • Explain when and how to activate emergency medical services (EMS). • Discuss the roles and responsibilities of dental team members during an emergency. • Identify considerations related to emergency equipment and medications. • Explain the importance of emergency preparedness, documentation, and post-incident review. • Discuss strategies for supporting patient safety during medical emergencies. Cancellation Policy

1. Tuition & Payment Policy The Institute for Allied Professionals offer flexible tuition arrangements to support accessibility for all students. While tuition rates vary by program, all students are required to comply with the following guidelines: Payment Plans Available Students may choose to pay their remaining tuition balance through one of the approved payment schedules: Weekly payments Bi-weekly payments Monthly payments This flexibility allows students to manage their financial obligations according to their individual needs. Once a payment plan is selected, the student must remain consistent with that plan throughout the duration of the course unless the school approves a change. Payment Responsibility Students are fully responsible for ensuring payments are made on time. It is the student’s responsibility to monitor their payment dates, communicate any issues in advance, and ensure that tuition obligations are met promptly. Failure to Pay If a student fails to submit any tuition payments within 30 days, the following policies apply: The student will be removed from the course. The student will lose access to all Zoom classes, materials, instructors, and resources. The student will become ineligible for any internship, certification, or completion acknowledgment. The school will consider the student withdrawn from the program. Students who are removed due to nonpayment must re-enroll as a new student if they wish to return, including completing a new enrollment agreement and submitting a new payment plan or deposit, when applicable. Payment Flexibility While we aim to support students and understand that unexpected financial challenges may arise, it is essential that students reach out to the school before missing a payment. Communication allows us to help create reasonable arrangements when possible. However: Students must understand that no refunds are provided once tuition payments have been made. Extensions or grace periods are not guaranteed and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Our goal is to support each student while maintaining the integrity of the educational program. 2. Refund Policy Refunds are offered in accordance with state guidelines and school policy. Although specific refund amounts and percentages are not listed here, the general structure is as follows: General Refund Rules Refunds apply only during the designated pre-course refund period.
